2010 Ceramic China, ---Tour and Exchanges, June 11-28.
Shanghai, Yixing, Hangzhou, Yellow Mountain, Jingdezhen, Xian and Beijing.
$4,700 per person, (Scholarship is available for educators);
$1,500 deductible if you are going to buy your own international round trip air tickets.
Costs: ($50 off if signed up before March 31, 2009)
Additional fee $700 for single supplement.
The cost may vary if you return to a city other than San Francisco.
The fee includes: international air tickets, local transportation, lodging, three meals a day, and tour guides/interpreters. The travel agent has limited insurance, so we suggest that you buy your own traveling insurance.
The fee excluded: Chinese visa, tips to tour guides and drivers, personal phone calls, etc.
This itinearary is designed for both professional ceramic artists and art lovers. We may exchange (lectures) with art schools based on the inquiry of the groupe. We will take one in-country flight from Jingdezhen/Nanchang to XiĄŻan and take an overnight train to Beijing. We are going to use one bus between the cities from Shanghai to Jingdezhen. You wonĄŻt need to carry your luggage in the waiting rooms of airport or train stations all the time. The longest bus ride will be about 4 hours from Hangzhou to Yellow Mountain.
Itinerary
June 11, departure from the US;
June 12, arrival in Shanghai in the evening,
June 13-15, tours in Shanghai (Yu Gardern and market, Shanghai Museum, Huangpu River Cruise, and a one-day tour in Shanghai World Expo);
June 16, afternoon, bus to Yixing (2 nights), tour at an ancient dragon kiln site, visit to national mastersĄŻ studio and Yixing Ceramics Museum;
June 18, in the morning - bus to Hangzhou, tour at West Lake (one night);
June 19, in the afternoon - bus to Yellow Mountain (2 nights);
June 21, in the morning - bus to Jingdezhen (2 nights), tour at the Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute, Ancient Porcelain Factory, Sculptural Factory and art galleries and museums;
June 23, bus to Nanchang and a flight to XiĄŻan (2 nights), East Han Museum;
June 24, Terri-Cotta Warriors Museum,
June 25, overnight train to Beijing, (on the train);
June 26, arrival in Beijing in the morning. Visit Great Wall and the Bird Nest;
June 27, visit Panjiayuan Ghost Antique Market, Tiananmen Square and Forbidden City;
June 28, home flights from Beijing to the US. Arrivals will be on the same day in US local time.
